Over the years, I have had the privilege and good fortune of working with some colourful, engaging and inspiring business people.
Here is what some of them have to say below.

RUSSELL DALGLEISH - CHAIR, SCOTTISH BUSINESS NETWORk

“Norman Jackson is a compelling, professional presenter with the natural flair to capture the audience's attention. His wide-ranging experience in the world of business allows him to share insights and advice which can transform the mindset of any leader, be they StartUp or member of a corporate board. The years of experience as a chairman places Norman in a unique position to act as a host for events where he places everyone at their ease while ensuring the audience secure maximum benefit from the event.”

NEIL MACDONALD - REGIONAL DIRECTOR, METRO BANK

“I have known Norman (Norrie) Jackson for circa 8 years now and have worked with him in hosting many networking events with Metro Bank and indeed other organisations. He is a thoroughly professional, engaging, and universally appealing public speaker, and every audience I have ever seen him host has been both entertained and inspired in equal measures. His involvement in many sports at a high level, and his translation of the skills and strategies utilised both in sport and business is suitable for any audience and always extremely well received. He is also an excellent Master of Ceremonies and an all-round “great bloke”.

LINDA DUBERLEY – INTERNATIONAL JOURNALIST, FOUNDER AND EDITOR OF THE RIVER TRIBE MAGAZINE

“Norman Jackson is my fellow Ambassador at The Victoria Foundation, a Richmond-based medical charity. I have seen Norman MC several of our large events - including the Winter Ball at Twickenham Stadium. He has engaged everyone with his resonant and insightful style. In addition, he is a columnist at River Tribe Magazine, a magazine I own and publish, where he has turned in some excellent copy on the relationship between sport and business strategy. He has precisely the kind of approach and demeanour which allows him to successfully coach others in the craft of public speaking. Above all, he is a first-class individual with integrity and professionalism in all he does.”

JOHN DARNTON- FORMER MANGING DIRECTOR OF DAVIDOFF (UK)

“Norman Jackson has demonstrated his articulate and professional Public Speaking and Master of Ceremony Skills repeatedly over the 30 years I have known him. Events I have attended over which he has presided, include Charitable fundraising, sporting Dinners, private celebrations and club assemblies.”

GRAHAM BALL - CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF THE VICTORIA FOUNDATION

“Norman (Norrie) Jackson is an absolute star. He has been our Master of Ceremonies at the Annual Victoria Foundation Christmas Ball for the last three years and he has done a brilliant job. We normally attract a crowd of around 300 so he is not intimidated by large numbers. He is always thoroughly prepared and quite quirky.

Invariably I have had to speak as well and whereas I used to consider myself an ‘OK’ public speaker I now realise I am very second rate and I find it very irritating being on the same podium as that man. I have come to terms with it.

There will be some who will notice that he is Scottish but you should not let that put you off; he plays on it mercilessly and somehow people warm to him. He exudes confidence when he has a microphone in his hand – bit too much really which can be a bit of a worry - because obviously enjoys himself but that enjoyment is contagious.

I have been on three fairly arduous Charity treks with Norrie and you do get to know people quite well under those circumstances and I can honestly say that he is a terrific human being; decent , equable, reasonable, good company, fair, charitable, humorous (disguised) and an all-round great bloke. I mention all of the preceding only because all of those characteristics come across when he is on stage.

He invariably finishes off with a Scottish poem that is as apposite as it is unintelligible but notwithstanding it works. I cannot recommend Norrie more highly.”

NICK HILLMAN - OWNER AND MANGING DIRECTOR OF WINESERVICE

“Norman has been part of a local group in south-west London that has worked to create strong friendships over 30+ years. He has played a pivotal role in bringing people together. An added bonus is his wonderful ability as an event host allied to his superb and well-researched public speaking. I would have no hesitation in recommending Norman as an MC or similar.”

ADAM KNIGHT - WINGS SWIM SCHOOL

Inspiring & thought-provoking – Norman has the uncanny ability to assess and understand the strengths and weaknesses of any Business Owner. Having enrolled on the Richmond Chamber of Commerce Personal Mentoring scheme, it was clear that Norman has vast experience in business, but also the ability to communicate that experience to young entrepreneurs in a way that can have an immediately positive influence on their business (and bottom line). From SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis to deep philosophy, Norman will not offer you the solution to your business problems on a plate but will challenge you to come up with the solution yourself; a significantly more valuable gift. Definitely not your typical finance man, Norman is creative, humourous, analytically minded strategist, who has the power to unlock the potential in business leaders of the future”.

ALEX KNOX - ROYAL WIMBLEDON GOLF CLUB

“When I was asked to give the keynote speech at the annual golf club dinner, I turned to Norrie for help. His experience was vital in crafting a relevant and entertaining address and as we worked through the process he gave me the confidence to deliver on the night.  I could not have done it without him.”

CHRISTINE ESSON - CHIEF EXECUTIVE AND CO-FOUNDER OF THE SCOTTISH BUSINESS NETWORK

“I have known Norman Jackson for five years and connecting with him was a pivotal moment in the growth and development of my global business.

Norman’s business and sporting knowledge ensures he is able to provide real world, actionable insights, which always resonate with a business audience.

Personable, professional and able to deliver specifically tailored messages ensures Norman is first class speaker and business coach, whom I would highly recommend.”

ROD LYNCH- FORMER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR BBC BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND PAST PRESIDENT, LONDON SCOTTISH FOOTBALL CLUB

“Whether he is making a rugby dinner roll in the aisles with laughter or delivering a thought provoking seminar on business finance, Norrie Jackson is a consummate speaker.

His understated introductions are invariably followed by a quality performance which never fails to delight and entertain. For example, when asked to do something a bit different for a Burns Supper he delivered the whole theatrical, knife waving performance - in French! He knows how to relate to an audience and is thorough in his homework and preparation, so the finished article is never less than the highest quality. A wonderful speaker for any occasion.”
